About the College

With an ambitious vision2023 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and within the goals set by two inspiring leaders, work began on the establishment of the College of Arts at King Saud University to cover the needs of the labor market and provide it with qualified cadres of designers, directors, representatives of cinema, theater and artists in various disciplines to be a college with various programs that serve the goals and achieve ambitions. The supreme decision was issued to establish the College of Arts in 1441 AH - 2020 AD at King Saud University, followed by the issuance of the decision of the Council of Universities in 1442 AH - 2021 AD to establish the College of Arts and transfer the Department of Art Education to it to include a number of departments: the Department of Performing Arts, The Department of Visual Arts, the Department of Design, formed the teams that have been keen for years to achieve and harmonize the structure of the university and work on the developments that prepare for the establishment of College of Arts. In 19/ Rabi 'al-Thani 1444 AH - 2021 AD, the executive team headed by Dr. Mona bint Shaddad Almaliki and a number of faculty members from various disciplines and some departments of the university was assigned to turn the long-awaited dream into reality. The achievements of the executive team continued to include ending work on plans and programs and judging them to ensure their quality and then submitting them for approval by the university administration Obtaining an independent building for the College of Arts, as well as attracting qualified faculty members at the university, in addition to transferring faculty members from the Department of Art Education and Administrative Staff. On 10 Jumada Al-Thani 1444 AH - 2023 AD, a decision was issued to assign Her Excellency Dr. Mona bint Shaddad Almaliki, Dean of College of Arts, to be the first Dean of the College of Arts. In 1445 AH - 2024 AD, the College began to receive students and provide prepared academic programs.
