Educational and Academic Affairs College Units
1. Academic Advising Unit
Unit Description:
The Academic Advising Unit aims to develop advisory services for students to benefit from them in enhancing their personalities and skills in various fields, in accordance with global standards for providing advisory services in higher education institutions.
Unit Duties:
1- Overseeing the annual academic advising plan's execution.
2-Using meetings, bulletins, and the unit's webpage on the college website, educating staff members on the nature of the unit, its significance, and how to make use of it.
3. Taking care of all the grievance and complaint-related matters.
4-Introducing the college, its departments, programs, care and advising services, as well as its vision, mission, and goals, to the students.
5. Overseeing the departments' student counseling programs.
6-Preparaing a report outlining the department's and the unit's successes in academic advising, including helping exceptional students and resolving academic challenges, among other things.
7 - Addressing the departments regarding the absence of students with accepted and documented excuses from the official authorities recognized by the university.
8 - Study the cases referred by the deanship or departments.
9 - Organizing courses and workshops for academic advisors in the departments to improve their performance.
10- Identifying academically delayed students and providing them with academic advising.
2. Examinations Unit
Unit Description:
The Examinations Unit seeks to organize the examination procedures for students and ensure the readiness of the halls, laboratories, and studios for the exams.
Unit Duties:
1 - Streamlined and regular supervision on the progress of exams.
2 - Direct coordination with the examination committees within the departments.
3 - Direct coordination with the college's schedule committee.
4 - Ensuring the readiness of halls, laboratories, and studios for the exams.
5 - Forming a task force to monitor and supervise college exams in coordination with the departments.
6 - Preparing the necessary reports on the progress of the examinations and submitting them to the Educational and Academic Affairs Agency.
7 - Appointment of committees related to the Examinations and Schedules Unit at the college (Examinations and Schedules Committee at the college).
3. Cooperative Training Unit:
Unit Description:
The Cooperative Training Unit aims to prepare students for training that aligns with their academic qualifications and abilities, while maintaining communication with them after they leave the university campus.
Unit Duties
1. Coordination between departments regarding cooperative training.
2. Supervising cooperative training operations in the departments and preparing reports accordingly.
3. Seeking to establish partnerships with entities outside the university to provide diverse opportunities for cooperative training in coordination with the departments.
4. Direct follow-up with faculty members supervising cooperative training in the departments.
5. Reviewing and analyzing cooperative training course reports, preparing their respective reports, and submitting them to the college administration.
4. Educational Affairs Unit
Unit Description:
The Educational Affairs Unit studies and reviews the curricula in the college departments, the newly introduced pathways, along with other tasks.
Unit Duties
1. Handling of matters related to course equivalency, re-enrollment, and granting opportunities.
2. Develop the registration plan at the beginning of each semester and announce it to the students.
3. Placing students’ announcements and other matters relevant to the academic student affairs.
4. Announcing the acceptance and transferring the request from different departments with absenteeism data for students exceeding 25% absenteeism as well as preparing the relevant lists to the matter.
5. Addressing the registration issues faced by students at the beginning of each semester and coordinating schedules in a way that serves the student's interests within the limits of regulations and capabilities. Printing their schedules after the specified registration period.
6. Supervising the clearance procedures for graduating and withdrawn students, as well as the clearance for official scholarship students and the transfer forms for non-Saudis.
7. Providing the college departments with all the information they need about the students' academic status based on the available records and information, and further preparing a report on that for the college's academic affairs vice-dean.
