In an ambitious step, the Design Department was established in the College of Arts as one of the leading specializations within the departments of King Saud University. The department offers several academic programs in line with Vision 2030 that achieve sustainability, contribute to the quality of life, and serve the community by spreading visual culture.

The Design Department aspires to achieve leadership in teaching design fields by offering academic programs that teach graphic design, motion design, textile and fashion design, jewelry design, and other programs that keep pace with the field of design. Through these programs, the department seeks to create a creatively stimulating academic educational environment that spreads the culture of design thinking as a way of life by qualifying competencies that keep pace with the needs of the labor market.
